Three Lions FC girls named MVPs at Berkeley

On 6 June 2026 Berkeley International School held its sports awards and named the most valuable player (MVP) in each of its football teams. The school fields three girls' sides, split by year group: Varsity for the senior years, Junior Varsity below it, and G7U for Grade 7 and under. All three MVP awards went to Lions FC Girls players - Emma in Varsity, Alex in Junior Varsity and Niya in G7U.

Three teams, three year groups, three awards, one club. Our girls were the best player in every single girls' football team the school put out this season, and they did it against the whole year group, not against each other.

Behind the three awards are seasons of work at Lions FC Girls: learning to take a pass under pressure, to look up before you have to, and to keep doing both when the game speeds up. That is what the school watched all season.

It is fitting that the school was Berkeley. Lions FC started there in January 2020, when a group of parents in the same grade arranged extra coaching for their daughters on top of the football they already played at school. Within months the club had moved to SoccerPro Bangna, where it has trained ever since. Six years on, three girls from that same club were on the Berkeley stage collecting the medals in all three categories at once.

Congratulations to Emma, Alex and Niya - this is the result of their hard work. And thank you to Berkeley International School for seeing it.
